Rough Engine Noise on cold start (R36)

Just a quick question for fellow R36 owners...

I notice on start up every morning a really loud and rough idle... Does anyone else have this experience?

Try a '62 Austin-Healey Sprite with a BMC A-series 1110cc engine, twin SU, that hasn't run for 6 months over winter, with manual choke and a 3.5" exhaust.. then drive it on a warm day, getting vapour locks whilst running..

Just curious... why on earth would you want a 3.5" exhaust on a non-turbo 1110cc engine?

    Ever heard of back-pressure? <jk>

I will say that I am glad to hear that it is normal and agree it does sound like a little V8!!
