Doesn't work on my car either
Damn!!!
2010 Passat CC TDI - Sat Nav, Panoramic Roof, Park Assist, Climate Controlled Seats, MDI, Reflex Silver, Kufatec Bluetooth.
2012 BMW 328 ///M Sport - Alpine white, Sunroof, Navigation, Bi xenon, extended connectivity package, 19" ///M Sport alloys, ///M Sport package
My Passat CC has similar issues with the * and TONE buttons not letting me watch DVDs while the car is moving. Is there another hack?
Awesome trick!!! works perfectly. But my car is not new so yeah...
Ps. It didn't work the first time, you have to press the tone button split second after "i", the first time i did it slowly and it didn't work.
Anyone have any luck enabling video in motion?
I would love any answers on how to play DVD whilst moving as well. I never watch it by myself, but when I have some people like the Family in the car, its nice on the long relo bash drives - instead of just a screen that says - "car is in motion"..
I mean we paid $2500 for a ****ty DVD player, the least it can do is play when I want it too! I should have just bought a 60 inch TV for that and it would have been in HD!
All hacks welcome - but its not looking like anyone knows it for the MK6 (2010+)cars..

I just tried it in my T5.....works fine. Too easy.
The Navi forum keeps deleting the post. Here is the same but on another forum:
Video In Motion for US RNS-510 - TDIClub Forums
In the US they must have different buttons. I held the eject, star and setup buttons.
You can now permanently enable Video in Motion: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...n-61990-3.html
In short:
1. Download one of the ISO's and burn it to CD (one available here).
2. Enter your car, do NOT insert the key into the ignition, and turn the radio on
3. Insert the CD your burn and reboot the unit by pressing the <, > and the button next to your Eject button together (just like you would Ctrl+Alt+Del on a PC) (all 3 buttons are along the top of the unit)
4. Wait for the unit to reboot, it might complete the boot cycle and appear to do nothing. It may also show an error (i.e. invalid disc). DON'T touch the unit or press ok on the error message - just wait for a minute or two, then the software upgrade should start.
5. Follow the prompts until the upgrade is finished. The upgrade essentially changes the speed limit that stops the video from showing from ~7kph to 255kph (so I'm told, anyway).
There is a second ISO that reverts the changes if you wish to do so at some point.
