RNS 510 FW upgrade to 2700

Hi,

Ive been doing a lot of forum reading about the FW upgrade to the RNS 510 system for the R36, and since i still have the original 1020 FW installed I'm looking to upgrade it.

My part number is IT0035680A.

Does anyone know if i have to step upgrade (i.e go to FW 1100 1st, and then to 2700), or should i be able to upgrade straight to 2700 ??

I'm also a little bit worried about this battery drain issue Ive been reading about.

Also does anyone know if i do the FW upgrade does this reset my premium dynaudio system in the R36 back to standard ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

As it's a version A, you can get the firmware updated.

Go into the dealer, and complain about it shutting off when using the navigation. They'll update the firmware. If you ask nicely, they may even load version 3 of the maps, too.

I too had a "few" issues on my satnav (both R36 and Tiguan) crashing etc, to which they updated the firmware and also go the latest V3 maps for free. All sorted out now.
