I've got one of the controllers at home for when I fit to mine. I'll look for the number later. Be aware that the camera / emblem that connects to this controller is different to that used on the Golf - the Golf's one is a composite signal, and this one is RGB (or the other way around LOL, I know they are not compatible though). I've got a camera / emblem kit, some cables from Kufatec, and a control unit... just need to try and get some time to see what works and what doesn't. I fully expect to have to work out some extra wiring...

Firmware 2660 and later have the OPS on the reversing screen.

Thanks for that. I already have the camera installed in the R36 (installer said he used A4 integrated handle) and works but with no guidance lines.

Also, on the firmware. Am I right in understanding that I can't check it without VCDS such as posted here? I've read elsewhere you just hold the setup button for a while but all that does is take me to the radio setting screen and no further.

I have a VCDS coming this week hopefully which should allow me to have a bit more of a play.

If you have a working camera without controller then the camera wont work with a controller... it's a different breed as I noted above.

Ah right. Thanks for the clarification. I obviously didn't quite get it first time around. Someone else in this thread was talking about it working on a Passat CC so I thought that may have been it.

The passatcc i worked on had guide lines because he bought the version with the vw control module.

There is another vw rvc version without control guide lines and does not require a control module

The Golf (non controller version) has RGB (as this is the only input on the headunit).

The Passat (controller version) is composite. Conversion to RGB is performed in the controller.

Man, I'm getting confused now. So it sounds as though it is possible in my R36 but I have the wrong controller module?
