    Hi Szikou,

I've already been down this path with my dealer who has informed me that despite his ''herculean'' efforts, it was too late to add the RVC.

    Cheers,

    No worries,

I have submitted a query asking this question on the suppliers web site.

As luck would have it the supplier is about a 15 minute drive from my house.

I will post up any comment received from them.

you can all forget about the badge camera in the wagon, unless you want to do some serious cutting the badge does not have a hole through to the trunk, i know ive just had the rear of the car off for the stereo install and had the OEM camera badge ready to go however thats way too much cutting even for me.

speak with Lee at Advancedice he will give you all of the info as well as supply you if you need oem parts

    OK,

Rob from Auspack Electronics replied to my query.

    Message: Hi,

I have a 2010 Mark VI Passat Wagon.

Can you tell me if the Passat RVC on your web site provides a composite or
    RGB signal.

I am trying to work out if I need the VW controller (required with a
composite signal) to connect into my RNS-510 when I order the camera.

    Many thanks,
    Geoff.

    Hello Geoff

The camera produces a composite video output (RCA connector)

The are two types available a CMOS type and a CCD type.

Both are in stock, the CMOS type is 85.00 and the CCD type is 135.00

The CCD is far superior in the dark and provides an overall better
    picture.

    Kind regards
    Rob.

Rob attached a .pdf with some camera comparison shots as well.
I will convert to images and post links a bit later today (hopefully).

So, based on the above I will need a VW controller which should then give me the moving steering angle lines.

I am going to discuss the above with Volkspower this week as well.

This is a good thread, if everyone dumps the knowledge here it will make things a bit easier for anyone wanting an RVC (especially one the Wagons).

The dealer I bought my Passat from even rang me inquiring who was doing my RVC install!!

ill check the part number, dont order one i can send you mine if you like.....the problem is the trunk lids needs to be cut to allow the badge to come through, i dont mind a small cut however there is a supporting arm right over the badge

Thanks 111 - let me know the part number and if it's the correct one I will buy it from you (as long as it's competitive with what I can get it for new... )

    Hi Geoff,

Great work and good information. Would love to see the pics when you get them uploaded. I'll be very interested in costings from Volkspower as well when you get them.

    Cheers,

dont buy it just take it and see if it fits, if it fits then we can work out a deal, no point in two of us spending the money
