No probs... once you have the part number let me know and I'll know straight away if it's what I need.

    Thanks...

    No Worries m8,

I am calling Dean at Volkspower on Monday to confirm what make/model of RVC he will supply and pricing of said unit.

I did drop by last week and look at a RVC being fitted to a Skoda.

The RVC "looked" the same as the Auspack Electronics site, but I couldn't tell if it was a CCD or CMOS type.

    Cheers,

    Geoff.

    Hi Geoff,

Was wondering how you've gone with getting a RVC fitted too your wagon?

    Cheers,

Thought you'd be interested in seeing the following postings to another forum, the first link is a reversing camera that is hidden behind a Golf's badge / tailgate opener.

    link 1

The next link is the process by which the badge / tailgate opener is added to a car that does not have one factory fitted.

    Link 2

Call me a whimp but I would prefer this ugly thing than taking to my car the way they have...

This is only my 3rd post and I'm not picking up my R36 wagon until next week, but I've been told that the Passat RVC is the same as on an Audi A4 and can be retrofitted in that manner.

Anyone heard this before? I'm organising for the install to be done by someone referred to me who does plenty of prestige car mods, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Was also sent this link on the badge camera being fitted to a Golf.

So I had the RVC fitted last week along with BT and an in-motion disabler and it looks pretty factory. They used the tailgate handle from an A4 wagon which incorporates the camera. All works well and integrates properly with the OPS (can switch between). Only thing missing from the factory version is the guidance lines, but if you can't park with OPS, a RVC and your own eyes, then give it up!

In all honesty, after having it for the last few days I don't think it's something I'd ever pay for again. In a Q7 or landcruiser perhaps, but not in a passat.

I think you should give up if you can't park without any aides - OPS, RVC, etc. But that's me! Sure all the aides make it easier but you should be able to do it without. I'd certainly never PAY EXTRA for them.
