Retrofitting Courtesy Footwell Lights on a B6

Hi all,

Has anyone tried to retrofit the courtesy footwell lights on a B6?
I'd like to install courtesy lights on the bottom of the doors also. I think they may be called the courtesy gutter lights?
Just wondering if the wires are already inside the door somewhere and all i have to do is connect the globes to it or do i have run the wires all the way to the Comfort Control Module.

Anyone had any luck with this? My car is a B7, but interior is pretty much identical to B6 anyway. The lack of footwell lights annoys me, even my Golf had this feature. Are there OEM parts available for a retrofit?

hrm, seems that oem parts are very expensive so over $100 just for the reflectors alone, then you need the repair wires and connectors and cloth tape.

The Bold Sport kits are complete, OE and only $30

Yeah, the part numbers that i was looking at are for another model i think. Passat ones must be 1/2 the price of golf ones. but they would get them in bulk along with the connecters and wires etc. I will have to pick up a set. au delivered vehicles don't get these lights on any model passat. golf had them early 2005 then they got deleted.

I bought them for my MK 6 Golf from Bold Sport, quick delivery and no problems.

My kit arrived from Bold Sport, just got to wait until I have a full day spare to install it all neatly.

The link says all the info about which pins to use, I'll just have to be careful and take my time to get it right

I figure what it's saying is connect the power pin to pin 7 on plug B where the fuse box is and connect the ground wire anywhere that I can ground it properly. It's got one of those ring shaped connectors on the ground wire, so I'll just find a suitable bolt/screw to use for that.
