btw Don't bother with the VW Australia first aid kit - it is a very ordinary piece of kit. I bought that originally - a real joke - a couple of bandaids, a tube of antiseptic cream and not a lot more. The OEM kit is much better, with lots of bandages and things.
    Except www.oempl.us quote 6 - 8 weeks delivery!

Does your also have a silver trim piece that sits under neath the black plastic bracket that holds the triangle? Mine does not have that either.
Is this silver trim piece a handle of some sort or is it required to hold the bracket / triangle also?

    No reply?!

Anyway, got all the required parts from VW (no need to wait 6-8 weeks) and fitted it this afternoon. Took about 15mins to do.

Most impressed with my handy work!

Here is how it is done...

My question related to the silver trim piece.
I am aware yours came from the factory, hence my question does it have the silver trim piece also as in the pictures on the vortex site.
As the clowns at VW could not get the silver trim piece as there was no listing / part number for it on Etka.
Maybe the silver trim piece is just in the US market.
But as yours came with this from the factory, I assumed you would be the best person to ask, as no one else on this site have acknowledged the fact that they have this installed or not.

Anyway, all in now, looks good, just missing the silver trim piece!

    Obviously your cars boot lid (safety triangle area) does not look like the pictures in the following (refer to picture no.1);

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3062206

...which I have made reference to previously.

Because if it did, you would know what the silver trim piece is in the boot lining underneath the safety triangle bracket / holder.

Maybe this is for the US market only? Just trying to find out.

Maybe the guys on vortex might be able to help me on this one.

You say yours was factrory, then you say it wasn't in there at time of delivery? I am confussed.
Did it still come with the Black Plastic Holder and just no Safety Triangle.
Or did it have neither? Because if it had neither, that would lead me to believe that these were not fitted at all in any OZ spec Passat's.

LOL, I just wanted someone in the know to check if this was on there car too.

Well mine didn't have one when I picked it up. Compained to the sales guy so he gave me the one out of the CC on the lot.
