You don't have a long time to wait, only 6-8 weeks. I ordered mine over a month ago and have over 3 months still to go, for the same spec car....hmmm I think I'll get on the phone today....

Yeah- seems as if I was VERY lucky.

I understand that mine was a VW Aust ordered spare which is on the water so I have been able to get delivery sooner than those who ordered a custom build. Fortunately for me, it hadn't been allocated to anyone

So did mine... And I can easily say my car cost $70k drive away.

Amount of cash you have to pay + amount they give you for trade = total cost. Pretty basic maths that one.

In theory, yes. In practice no. Salesmen are very adept at adjusting trade-in prices to get the customer to believe they are getting a good deal. It is very easy to increase the trade-in price and reduce the discount you would otherwise have gotten for not having a trade-in. The same principle can apply when the dealer is supplying finance.

It is OK to compare the changeover price (ie with trade-in) when comparing deals with different dealers, but it does muddy the waters a bit when comparing with a straight purchase (no trade-in).
