    R36 Wagon 1/8 Mile Run

    Hi all,
Had my first run at the local Bodangra drags yesterday, really enjoyed the day. This is my first run of the day running against my friends Evo 8 MR.

My fastest run of the day was 9.18, was expecting a bit better but the starts took a fair bit to get used to. Hopefully will run better on the 23rd of June which is the next meet.

    Cheers

Good work! I was up in Dubbo over the weekend, shooting a story at the Zoo. We did the "Roar & Snore" thing and we stayed in 2 x man tents at the Zoo. Damn, it was sooooo cold! Unbelievable! Great weather otherwise, would've been a good day at the drags! How often is there a meeting? Do you do 1/4 miles, or does the road run out first!

I'm going to drive up next time and take the kids to the Zoo etc, it'd be cool to time the visit with a drag meet!

If you can lemme know when the next one is that'd be great! I'd love to give my wagon a spin!

    R36 Wagon 1/8 Mile Run

What day were you at the zoo? I was floating around in there Saturday morning!
Meetings are getting fairly regular now about once a month. It's actually near Wellington and only an 1/8 mile setup.

Dubbo's track is in development stages and will be another 1/8mile setup as the council didn't want to fork out for insurance.

The next meet is the 23rd of June I'm pretty sure but I will keep you up to date

Here is the print out of "Group C" these were the trial runs to get out dial in times. About 45 cars ran, and we all got 6 runs each

    Hi

We arrived at the airport at around 12:00, we had three chartered aircraft and we came in from Sydney, shot the first part of the story, then stayed the night in the freezing tents at the Zoo, got up at stupidoclock on Sunday, shot the rest of the story and drove to the airport where we were wheels up at around 1300hrs. There was about 25 of us all up, 3 film crew and the rest were kids that had suffered major organ transplants - it was a "feel-good" story and it'll be on Channel 9 "Mornings" some time next week I think.

It'd be quite cool to have another R36 up there - there's strength in unity! Your times are fairly consistent, were you happy with them or have you got some more in there somewhere?

Are you doing the launch control thing? It scares me a bit the LC, it can't be good for the car, it seems to thrash the s--t out of it!

23rd of June... Hmmm, I'd love to take my 2 young daughters up to see the Zoo, its fantastic, but if I could squeeze in a couple of drags and a meet & greet, that'd be very cool!

Do keep me in the loop!

    R36 Wagon 1/8 Mile Run

The kids would have really enjoyed the day! I'm a zoo friend and as a local we pay about $40 up front and get a full years access to the zoo, me and the missus go in and have a bit of a wander round every so often.

Those tents would have been freezing! I saw them as we drove past it's a really good setup but pretty close to water.

I was using the launch control but couldn't match the break release to the lights, my average reaction was about .890 if I release on the second yellow next time I should run better times.

I had my DSG service around 5k ago and it didn't feel very harsh when launching. Fuel consumption was about 13.5L/100k including the drive out.

It surprised a lot of people including the commentators!

I should hopefully improve my times a bit next time. Getting a tune next week and starting to experiment with different filters and intake systems

That run was an 8.16, then on the second run against me he blew his transfer case.
