    R36 Vinyl Wrap

    Hi Guys.

Inspired by the new M3, I took my R36 for a bit of modification It's been Vinyl wrapped white leaving the bonnet, boot lip and mirrors left black.

I would love to hear your comments... The company that did it for me have done a full write-up here:

Sorry if I am not allowed to post links elsewhere. Mods remove if this is considered bad etiquette.

Whoa... that looks pretty good. Would have been expensive though?

I am not sure I understand why you'd do this, does it protect the paintwork?

I thought it might have the opposite effect, glues and dust particles being stuck to the car long term I would expect could get ugly.

    Am I missing something?

Looks good, but why not buy a white one and get the roof etc done in black?

    Hi

    1. Does protect the paint-work, this is Vinyl that slips and slides on the car and bonds to it when you heat it with a heat gun. When removed in a few years, the car will look like new.

    2. You could get a white one and do bits black, but you'd protect less of the car. The other snag, they don't sell white R36's in the UK.

    3. Expensive, ish. About the 1/3 of a cost of a re-spray, with the benefit it protects the existing paint-work.

    4. Why do it? Looks fab... (imho)

    looks unreal.
If only we had this sort of product support in Australia.

I aksed about clear PPF wrapping for my new car and half of the companies didn't even know what that car was and only order in precut sheets from America.

    That looks pretty damn good!
I have thought about getting it done as well, it worked out quite cheap (compared to getting a spray job done) and the results are great.
It can fade depending on the colour (ie red) but white would stay looking great.
