R36 side mirror - fabric sticking out?

    Hi Guys,

I have just noticed that there is a little black fabric tag sticking out of the join of the side mirror.

The only thing that is different is that I now regularly fold my mirrors in of a night.

It hasn't effected the functionality of the mirror folding in and out.

Any thoughts on what it is, and how I can do a DIY fix?

    Cheers,
    Damo.

It's a bit of cloth tape that goes over the wiring in the mirror. It's just loose excess.

Rip it out, and run the mirrors through their folding sequence.

It did cross my mind, but it kind of seems part of the internal workings of the side mirror (as strange as it sounds).

One side of the fabric is smooth, the other like the soft side of a velcro pair.

I guess I'm looking for confirmation that their shouldn't be any fabric in that part of the side mirror housing.

    Cheers,
    Damo.
