Fair enough, the PS2 are great tyres.

I'm just on the end of my RT-615 Semi slicks, but want a good street performance tyre that lasts longer next time. Although I don't see the point of pushing it hard in the wet.

PS2's would cost a lot more locally I'm guessing.

I had RT615s on my MPS6. Loved them in the dry, super grip, quiet on the limit and great fun. Average in the wet. and I chewed through a set in about 16,000km LOL.

    New Tyres

Any update on Tyres lads. I Just did in one of my Dunlops on MY09. either I replace it and swap another tyre with the unused spare or put on an entire new set.

I used to drive German F1 Eagles which were great tyres, except the sidewalls "always" had problems. Had Bridgestones on the RX8 which didn't really last long at all.

    Cheers

I've had Kuhmo KU31's on my Audi.
    Quite impressed with them

I need to replace the Advans on the R36 after 15 or 16K. Can anyone give me an idea at the cost you can expect to pay for Conti CSC3's? Or any other suggestions of tyres you think match the Advans in performance?

    Thanks pj

Recently replaced by Conti Sport Contact 2 to Hankook V12 in Feb. They are very grippy and quiet, and reasonably priced
There was a tyre review in Road and Track and it came out 2nd.

Drove to Canberra and back with it and they are very impressive on the B twisty roads around Yarra Valley

I've now had a second Dunlop on mine develop a bulge in the sidewall. I now have a spare with a bulge AND a front left with one. Was just going to get a single Dunlop, don't know what to do now...

That's no good, i'd give dunlops a miss, too expensive for what they are anyway. Sportmaxx get a bit noisy too.

If you want stick with Dunlops, don't buy the superceded Sport Maxx. Make sure you get either the Sport Maxx TT or Sport Maxx GT (see press release - PDF file). The GT in particular seems to have a lot of Audi homologations.

I'm looking forward to trying out the PS3's, just hope they will be out from Tirerack.com by the time I need a new set.

I'm still recommending the PS2's as being FAR better for mechanical dry/wet grip and noise than any other of the long list of name brand (best tyre from each) tyres (Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, Yokohama, Dunlop, Michelin) I have driven on. The second set of PS2's I'm currently running only have about 3,000km's of life left in them (27,000km so far) and they feel just as good as the week I scrubbed them in.

It's not always the case that you get what you pay for; however if you have the (big) budget the PS2's will be the best performer.
