    R36...pre-ordered!!!

My first post on this section, but I thought it about time, as I will be the proud owner (hopefully) of an R36 Passat Wagon in the 1st qtr of '08.

Pre-ordered one today to replace my MkV R32. VAG Aust still haven't confirmed pricing or final spec as yet as Oz build has slipped to late '07/'early '08. VAG Aust will still be launching at the Sydney Motor Show though.

$1000 deposit and the expectation that the price will be approx. $65 to $70k.

here's to a loooong waiting period and pent up frustration!!!

Blue MkV R32 3Dr, DSG, Sebring box & 2.5" stainless, BMC CDA CIA + 3.5" stainless, 18" O.Z. Ultraleggeras, H&R springs, carbon rear valance

Black it is! (or will be). There are still rumors of them coming with matt black grills and rims....if thats the case, it will be white.

Going to try & forget it now as I know it will be closer to 12 months before I see it...which will also keep my leasing company a little more on side ...still have the R32 to amuse myself with for a while!

Will keep everyone informed on the progress (final spec & price) and build dates and ETA. First Oz cars are due to go into production late Nov or early Dec, althought this may slip due to already existing OS demand (pre-orders in Germany & UK). ETA in the UK has slipped to April '08 alreday.

Seconding the request for an update!

I'm days away from ordering either a V6 Passat or an R36... the R36 is looking better and better, although the dealer said "maybe September" when I asked how long it'd take.

don;t the dealers want to sell any cars, surely someone at VWA must know, or maybe they are still waiting to hear from Germany
