I was told on Friday it should be mid July - Barloworld VW in Mascot.

If the cars are built April, it is unreasonable to accept delivery 4 months on - it will mean that cars being built in May and Early June are being delivered at the same time.

My gut feeling is July.

Perhaps it is wishful thinking.....

Either way I have told the dealer I need a months notice as I am not sure how long it will take to sell the Mk5 GTI, which I need to recoup $33k for to payout the lease.

So the dealer has promised me I will be notified as soon as delivery is known. He is holding 12 orders for R36, and is copping a lot of grief from everyone on delivery date (some have had cars on order for nearly 12 months!!!)

I only ordered mine last weekend, so I'm not too upset about an August delivery - especially when the lease on the MPS6 doesn't expire until the end of October.

I went to my VW dealer on last Saturday and said to me that they were told by VWA that its unlikely to have the R36 here before October. If you guys been told that you are getting delivery by July or anything like that. You better check up with VWA. As I sent an email to them and ask about the R36on last Sunday and got a reply just then saying the date is not yet confirmed and most likely "4th quarter of 2008". So I guess I will trust VWA more than your dealer said. I know this news is gonna disappoint most of us here but we can't really do much about it right.

Yeah, I don't think any of us would be able to get the car before Oct anyway. R36 Dreamer could be the only one in Aust to get his before Oct. He's lucky.....

RWK you might want to check with your dealer again. My dealer is also telling me July delivery (*high five* R36 Dreamer

). This is based on the order tracking system they've got. My car is getting painted next week and will be ready for shipping end of April. Expected arrival in Australia end of June and delivered mid July.

It could be because you placed your order more recently compared to some of our orders being placed much earlier in the year or even last year. The July delivery is the first batch of cars arriving in Oz....

We should organise a drive day.....
