    Hi,

The choice of options, or maybe better, variations available here in Australia is pathetic compared to what's available in Europe.

Manual is still more prevalent there, automatic and DSG-type transmissions distant second but catching up, particularly in the more upmarket cars.

I don't mind the DSG (despite the clunkiness in stop/start) but whenever I drive the Eos I feel right at home and comfortable with the 6-speed manual - great box that, had it been available, would be in my Passat as well. Obviously not meant to be.

Regarding the audio unit/aircon clontrols cluster on the previous page, I have to say that it looks extremely busy and cluttered. Seems like a backwards step to me, always liked VWs for the clear and (mostly) logical layout. Just my $0.02.

Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

I love it. On my car it's subtle yet effective at helping you maintain speed control down hills. Very effective.

mixed opinions on it, sometimes it seems to drop one gear too many, especially if you have been on the loud pedal a little.

Yeah it is noticable but not annoying... Anyone know if the brake lights come on at the same time?

If cruise control is on, no - the R36's downhill assist is only change-down, not brakes application.

If cruise control is not on, then downhill assist only operates if you are on the brakes, so in that instance obviously yes.

Yeah, was going to mention this as well - it will only change down if you use the brakes to slow down a bit, otherwise it will just stay in 6th and keep increasing speed.

Kinda off topic - THIS PIC IS NOT AN R36...

The new climatronic a la CC enables display of HVAC via the stereo, and if you have the new firmware installed - vocie control of the climatronic... ubercool.

how dumb am I? I just went to the dealer to look at my v6highline and it turns out its an 2010 build. Why am i dumb? fogot to take pictures....however noticed that the steering wheel is different (much smarter looking), fog lights are different and the controls on the radio etc are different. I collect it on Tuesday so will post some picks...
