Always check the build dates. Anything after July (half way through year) is the next series. Eg 2009 built sep 2009 is a MY10
    However 2009 Built march is a MY09
    Hope this helps.

What kind of r36 u looking for? Colour? Sedan? Options?

Not really looking actually. Just looking for a family wagon actually and was considering these. Looking at a black wagon. Will know more on Saturday.

For me, MY09 or higher, wagon, anything but black with as many options as possible and low-ish kms. All of them seem to be high kms.

Couldn't get real picky with the year model mate as there was only so many to choose from. Ended up putting a deposit down and subject to an racq inspection tomorrow afternoon, I should be the new owner of a black my08 R36 wagon. Only option I think it's got is a sunroof, which is cool. Gotta try and get myself an RCD510 for it though as it has some plain Jain unit which is disappointing but that's life. I would've also liked to have had the auto tailgate and I might have a go at that too. Once I do get the new unit assuming that it'll work, I also really want a reversing camera for the wife as this is the new family wagon. Can't wait. Hope it passes it's test. It should with only 52k on the clock and having a service not long ago.

Has the 60k major service been performed? If not be mindful of a $2500 major including dsg service from a Vw dealer

I would say that if it has been serviced on schedule, that the 60k service would have been done last year (the last of the MY08s would have been 4yo in 2012).

The other thing to bear in mind is that VW has altered the servicing schedule so that the Haldex fluid change is now done at the 45k service instead of the 60k service to help spread the costs a bit.

    Hi guys,
Picked the car up this morning. Deed done. What a machine. I am in love with this machine. It really is unreal. With regards to the services, it has had that haldex fluid change done in the 45k service (done last year) as kleung as said. It then had another service done about 4 months ago. It drives like a dream and I think I picked up a bargain. The previous seller really looked after it and it has come to a home that it will be loved just as much if not more actually. Love the sunroof too. I've always wanted a sunroof in a car and now I get it in the family wagon!!! I've been reading about things that it does and all the electric seat settings. Amazing to say the least, and the seats are bloody awesome. Better than in our turbo Jetta, only just!! I will try and get a coupe of photos up over the break but I will put them in my other thread that I started as I'm trying to get a couple of answers/ideas in there for a few things that I want to do.
    Cheers

I bet your Jetta doesn't have inflatable side bolsters.

If you and your partner have different preferred seat positions, you *should* be able to link them to your keys, so when you unlock the car, the seats automatically move to your preferred position. I can't remember the procedure - Google undoubtedly knows.
