R36 How to get wire through firewall?

    Hi guys,

I am looking for a how to. I did a quick search on web, did not find anything. I also had a look at the firewall both from the engine bay and cabin, nothing obvious.

How can I get wire through the firewall on R36/B6 Passat? Where is the rubber grommet if there is any? Preferably driver side but passenger side will be fine.

    Thanks.

    Passengers side, behind the glovebox.

Itll come out directly above the chassis rail.

Really easy to answer mate seeing as though i was faced with exactly this situation. On the drivers side get down on your knees and look up where the pedals are. Where the clutch is supposed to be on a manual car there is a cut out in the sound deadening. Simply pull the flap of sound deadening back and you will see the rubber gromet that you can easily remove and punch your hole through. The gromet can be seen from the engine bay just next to the steering mechanism. You'll know what i mean when you have a look. It is really easy!

Perfect! That's what I am looking for! I will show you guys the goodies when they arrives. Cheers!

Also, BTW, the goodies includes the RVC, do you mind telling me the tips or how to remove the tailgate trims? Thanks!

There's some screws in the grab handles. I think that there is 4 screws all together. There is a little panel that you just have to unclip, then it pretty much pops off with those metal clips. Once you start from the small ends it will start getting quicker as you pull it off. It's a little hard to explain. Good luck with the RVC install. Been there, check my thread out on it!!
