    R36 headlights

Can anyone who has an R36 give feedback as to the quality of the HID lights?

    Cheers

What do you mean by quality? Build quality? Projector quality? Throw quality? ????

Interested in the quality and throw of the light they produce on low and high beam. I have seen some HID lights and they are rather average, and I have seen some that are just brilliant!

    Just wondering what to expect?

I don't know how to explain them other than "JUST BRILLIANT".

    I personally love them...

I can't fault them either I also love how they follow the steering input to help with cornering...

Sorry to dissappoint you here, but I find them rather average, I used to have a 2006 BF Fairmont Ghia, which I put 100 watt bulbs in both low and high beam, absolutely amazing lights and is the biggest dissapointment of my R36.... funny thing is that it was the only really good thing about the Ford..!

Yes, following the steering is cool and of good use on windy roads, but the depth of light is appauling, I also find that there is absolutely no light at all projected above the cut off on low beam so if you are going through a dip you cannot see anything further on, maybe I am going too fast??

100Watt in low beam? EEEK!!! Glad you were never driving towards me!

The HIDs in the R36 on low beam are better than high beam on my three previous cars (two VE Holden Calais' and one VE HSV Clubsport).

I have been in a HSV Adventra and I don't know what the story was with the lights in that but they were truly amazing.

I think that was on low beam and with the foglamps on. It was a while ago now.

Thanks for blinding everyone with your illegal headlights. How is your illegal headlight modification a fair comparison to legal headlights?

The Bi-Xenons on the R36 would outperform your illegal headlights easily, it's easy to confuse having lots of light scattering around with having good headlights.

There is a reason for the lack of light above the cut off point! You have projector lenses and this is to prevent you doing what you did in your Falcon and that's blind oncoming traffic .
