    R36 glitch or feature?

My wife described a weird occurrence yesterday
She went to the car and pressed the open button and when she opened the door the radio was on and the dash lights on also.
Did she hold the open button too long or something and this is a feature or is it a glitch?
    Cheers

    Holy Crap,

Never heard or seen that b4! Spooky! I reckon it is a system glitch as VW tend to have these now and again between cars!

    i'm calling GLITCH!

Though....when you turn off the ignition and you pull the key out, then press the power button for the radio and it goes on...then you get out of the car and lock it...the radio continues to play..could this be what possibly happened with the radio? I'm not sure if VW have an auto cut-off time for this situation to avoid battery drain?

as for the lights...i'm not sure???

    Cheers,

    Jayse.

When you press the unlock button the radio system boots up so it's ready when you jump in. Obviousley it decided to turn on during this process as well lol. I wouldn't think much of it unless it happens more.

It goes for 30 minutes. Has been a feature for at least 12 years (my 98 cabrio had it).

Check your owner's manuals. I think it's a feature. It may be part of the 'Leaving Home' functions. Also, check that out in your MFD settngs.

In regards to the radio staying on, it will for 30mins, until the CAN-bus gateway shuts down completely
