The figures I found interesting were the acceleration and economy figures

    RS6:

    0-100 4.6 sec
    14L/100km

    FPV F6X

    0-100 5.9 sec
    14.9 L/100km

    Commodore SS- V

    0-100 5.5 sec
    13.5 L/100km

    R36 Passat

    0-100 5.8 sec
    10.7 L/100km

The article also said that the HSV tourer would have been a better comaprision but they couldnt get one

    HSV Tourer R8

    0-100 5.1 sec
    15.2 L/100km

Look at how much fuel the "other" performance wagons use and are yet similar in performance to the R36. The tests I have seen in real world driving around town are about 13-14 L/100km for the R36, 18-20 L/100km for the SS, 20+ L/100km for the HSV and 22+ L/100km for the FPV.

You can keep a few poofteenths of a second when I am saving between $10 and $15 per 100km travelled.

The FPV and Holden also use as much fuel or more as the RS6, but the RS6 has over 50% more power.

It's because the yanks/aussies haven't learnt any new technologies in engines =P Probably never heard of direct injection, haha.

Are those 0-100 times manufacture quotes or timed? I *think* I've seen a few claims that the R36 is actually a bit quicker than VW says when you use LC...

Don't forget that the Audi & the R36 are a medium sized car like the 5 series BMW.

    The holden's & Ford's are much bigger & alittle heavier car's too.

I'm also not big fan of the R36 ride quality either.
