R36 Gearbox costs - wow, just plain wow.

Well, after selling the CC and then buying a Mazda6 (shudder) which in turn was smashed by manical neighbours and then going to an Amarok I have decided that my wife needs an R36. (I love how my mind works).

Found an R36 and was told by the owner that he had the gearbox replaced under warranty (something about shudders and metal bits in gear box oil)....

Rang the dealer to confirm what warranty was to be had for this bit of work turns out 3 years or so... but the kicker, service lady told me the cost to VWA for replacement of the gearbox and mechatronic unit.... $22k.... This was only 3 months ago too... wow. FYI, i'm paying less for the car. good to see why the gearbox and shifting was so nice on the test drive!

Apart from that, the car is in tip top shape. hopefuly, fingers crossed Finance comes through and can pick it up over the weekend.

Tuning joins my other list of **** to do to cars.

Amarok gets first priority, then the R36 but I'm currently doing landscaping so that gets all my money...
