Perhaps something to do with auto-hold? Turn it on/off and see if there's a change.

    r36 dsg shatter

Your Mechatronics is probably blown. You're describing the symptoms I had with my DSG GTI and I had to have my entire Mechatronics and DSG replaced.

My car never threw codes either but it was still stuffed.

    dsg shudder

    thanks for the replies
    tried auto hold, still apparent
think the mechtranics could be a issue. The car is out of warranty so a little scared to take back to the dealer, is there any way they could replace or repair if its faulty? has been very well maitained and dsg serviced 7000klms ago and no issues prior. dont know what to do
Dont wanna fork out 3-4000 for a new unit.
    Cheers

$3000 for a new unit? Try $10.000+ for it. Barloworld VW on Springvale Rd gave me the invoice for my DSG and Mechatronics swap and it was $15,928 inc. labour. VW Australia covered 90% as a good graces thing and the dealer who sold it to me had to pay the remaining ~$2000 that was left on it due to warranty purposes.

omg thats huge $$. Think i will need to run it by dealer and get it looked at as it bothers me. Will let you know how i get on. Any suggestions for being out of warranty? Will service records and dsg service maybe prove something as they didnt pick up any issues during dsg oil and filter change?
    Thanks

Really? That's very very weird. My Mechatronics invoice says ~$6,500 on the invoice inc. labour and I'm fairly sure they use the same DSG box in the MkV GTI and the R36.

I'll have another look, but it definately wasn't anywhere near $6500.
