    Welcome roh!

Did you check out the launch control? Show me another car for the price that can do what the DSG can... It truely is an amazing drivetrain! I LOVE it around town. Give it a bit of a squirt of the mark with a V8 Commodore or Falcon. They pull up at the next set of lights waiting to blow you away, you take of with launch control, leaving them in your dust! It's AWESOME!!!

thanks for the welcomes. Hope to be on here more often now. What a releif, no more rexnet

I thought I had done a fair bit of reading on the cc before I went for the test drive. I wish I had found this forum beforehand.
Until this thread I had no idea it had launch control So unfortunately I have not experienced it.

Does the r36 front lift a bit with hard acceleration ? This was noticable on the cc.

LOL, it would be noticeable on anything wouldn't it after a modded stiff-sprung WRX? I can't tell you though cos I haven't got mine yet.

Aahh.. times change and what a small world it is too

I'm coming from a mildly modified 2004 WRX STi

I've always liked the R36 but the CC really caught my eye, the spec sheet is fantastic and plenty of top-spec features for the price.

Roh, did you test-drive the R36 vs. the CC? What were your impressions, coming from a WRX you're the best benchmark yet

Thats interesting considering the R8 has around 90kw more with signif more torque.

    Psyk,

I haven't driven an R36. As you know their is no characteristic burble from the exhaust that all wrx drivers know so well. The cabin was very quiet, and a significantly better place to be than the rex.

To compare the cc to the rex for performance would be unfair. Fully forged motor, running a 400HP turbo, aftermarket computer and so on. It has easily out-accelerated an rs4 in 2nd and 3rd gear. You wont be blown away by the cc performance coming from a mildly modded STi.

After 3 yrs of ownership I have no interest in the wrx type of power delivery- nothing under 3500rpm, something up to 4000rpm, and then a great rush to 7000rpm. The cc does need more power, and torque, to really make it an exciting car. The suspension needs something done up the front to stop the front from lifting when accelerating.

Apart from an increase in performance the cc or R36 make my wrx feel like a 'teenagers' car. The build quality, interior, exterior, std equipment, options list, ability to soak up rough road, and the lack of rattle, tyre noise, exhaust noise, makes it a far better car.
