i competed in the Australian Tarmac Challenge at Lang Lang on the weekend (in a fairly seriously worked R32), and there was a R36 competing in the street class (basically stock)....it finished 10th out of 25 cars (ahead of a stock R32 and GTI), and had some great results, mainly in the road sections...
i had a chat to the driver and asked him how he was finding it, and he said he was having a blast (hard not to really)....getting a bit of plough on understeer in the tighter stuff, but that's to be expected given the weight and location of the engine...launch control was working a treat....
there was one particular event, an 800m dash on the banked speed bowl that allowed for some direct comparison...our best run in the modified R32 was a 23.81, whilst the stock as a rock R36 did it in a best time of 23.5, the stock R32 did a 24.32
the really interesting thing was how many people had the R36 as a daily driver....must of been at least five (including me)....the pilot of the R35 Nissan GTR proclaiming they were the best seats he has been in...it really is a popular car amongst the cognoscenti...
Cool! They are a great car. Not that I'm biased or anything...
