Manually yes, and in sports mode its quite intuitive and gets into the right gear. In Drive however - it tends to either have a think about downshifting for a second, then drops down too low a gear and then its out of the power band.

Of course drive is the "economy mode" so its not really programmed to make "quick" changes and intelligent gear selection when its WOT, so unfair to criticise it for that

Its just a shame that Sports mode isnt more normal so you can drive around in it and the box will at least shift up to 5th or something at 60km/h rather than sit in third and revving at 4000!

All I wanted to know was if 0-100 was with or without the launch control.

Please forgive me for starting this thread

Now you should all go out for a beer or three and make up.

Last question how old are you people, 16 ? (joking)

Thanks guys. One last thing I read somewhere about keeping track of where your car is in production, is this something you can see online or through your dealer?

    Cheers Vossy

AFAIK only the dealers can monitor cars within the VAG production system, but once they have been built and delivered to the shipping people it is possible to track them until they arrive in Australia. You will need your car's VIN (the dealer can tell you this). The following thread describes the process (it works for VWs as well as Skodas) :

Yes, what I find is that Drive is always in too high a gear and Sport is in too low a gear, so if you're in 5th in Drive, Sport is usually in 3rd, when you actually want to be in 4th.

We need a 3rd option, Economy, Drive and Sport.

Economy would be as Drive is now, ie quick to shift up to a higher gear for economy purposes.

Drive would be between Economy and Sport mode.

    Sport is as it is.

I don't even bother with "D" or "S" any more because neither is particularly to my liking.

Who's arguing??? And what are we supposed to be arguing about???

As far as I can see, we are only talking about our preferences in what way we like to change gears and how VW could make the DSG auto box work better.
