let us know how it goes... saw that on fleabay...

I wish I could have ticked more boxes & continued with Post purchase spend (nanolex, cluster, audio/nav/dab/RCV bits bits and bobs, flat bottom wheel, tune etc, etc, etc.............................)

All the stuff I did on my WRX back when I had no wife, no kids, small mortgage... wouldn't change it for the world though (whimper)

Aaaaarh yes, the good old days when all I was responsible for was me. As my wife says the V6 wagon is a sign I am maturing without getting old. The WRX was a hell of a lot of fun though.

Yeah, unfortunately I had to go for a more family car and as it is a work vehicle as well, more space to carry crap when i'm not having fun. Might have kids soon so that was a factor but at least it should still be a fun car

I am hoping that the cluster swap will go smoothly, I negotiated that one with the wife, I insisted that it was an "option" that i was fitting afterwards, that along with the golf R wheel but I haven't researched if that works. I like the R wheel better.

FSI 220, can you elaborate on the nanolex stuff? Dealer already emailed with their protection pack details and they have a sale at the moment on it, I have already thought their protectant stuff is a pile of crap and overpriced.

Also, what are the thoughts on tinting the front to match the rear privacy tint that comes with sports pack, is there anyone with sportspack that can elaborate more on matching it up? Dealer post sales girl was trying to tell me how they can "blend" it in? I fail to see how you blend tint film.

Ah yes, the after sale, car protection spin... Sale huh, mine said the same........ Forget it as it is overpriced cash in the dealers pocket, except for the tint which I purchased for my V6 with Sport pack (see below).

If I may, Nanolex is in actual fact a supreme product that works, very very well. A mate of mine used it on his A4 & it is impressive indeed. There are other similar products out there but Nanolex has a couple of patents on some new nano tech or something like that.... You can pick it up for about $50-100 from one of the sponors here Car Care products. For next to a tenth of the cost the dealer charges to apply a nono sealant it is a no brainer. Takes about an hour to apply (if done correctly) & lasts about 1 yr before it needs to be re-applied. I am picking some up over the Easter holidays.

I have the Sport pack on my V6 & had the tint applied to the front to match the rear but I also had tint applied to the rear & back as well. Why the rear, well the factory Sport pack privacy tint is only a tint not a UV tint so for full UV protection you need a clear UV tint applied to the rear & back windows. I think the match up front to rear is actually just about seemless so I am very happy with it. Don't even think about it, just get the full tinting work done as it makes the cars glass uniform all over.. From memory we chose the darkest tint for the fronts (clear for rears), but I couldn't confidently say if all dealers have the same available tints.

Note that I had a spanking classic MY98 in 98 ... now I have to have a 5 seater fit for purpose wagon as well (U/C omega sportswagon is the standard issue)

As for tints ... VW do a very dark green as their privacy glass, not a dark grey, you have to watch that...

(i was talking about the CCP applied pro stuff)... one day I'll have to get around to doing it myself with the normal stuff as Ricker suggests.
