Up to a point, the ride comfort can be ~similar~, just the wheel travel will be less by the amount that you have lowered the car. The factory lowered suspension which I have, and comes standard with the 18" wheel package, is very similar to the standard suspension. The only real difference I note is that the springs/dampers "slow" the wheel travel quicker and therefore resulting in a less "wallowing" type ride. Bump absorbtion is quite similar to standard, but handling is improved quite significantly.

I would imagine that if you were to lower it any more, then there could be very significant ride sacrifices depending on how low you go. Having top notch dampers can make a difference here, but only to a point. At the moment, the 15mm lowered that I have done is as far as I would ever want to go as a compromise between ride/handling and driveability. Too low and you scrape every speed hump and driveway especially considering that I have had the sports skirt kit added.

As you would have noted by those ridiculously lowered cars that some youngsters drive, you will see them jiggle and jump down the street as if they are on solid suspension. IMO, they look ridiculous to loom at and they look ridiculous as they jiggle down the street, quite comical, really.

BTW, Lance, she looks schmick mate. Did you see my post re. the DSG 'reflash' available in US. Amongst other things, it enables Launch Control!
Thanks for the nice comment on the car, Andrew. I really should update my pics to show the car with the lowered suspension.

I didn't see your post, but I will have a look now. My DSG seems fine, but maybe the launch control could be fun.
