ps I forgot to mention the kind offer of Alfie here in Melb as well
I kindly deferred the offer till i was more prepared to be terrified
Hey all
I just want to say how glad I am to have found this forum in the last week. Such quick & thoughtful responses without much rancour has been a pleasant experience.
I want to publicly thank Gead for kindly spending an hour & 1/2 of his time taking me for a drive today & thoroughly & thoughtfully giving me the best vehicle familiarisation I have ever experienced. Considering that there are no r36's in Melb to test he was the best advert for Volkswagen around (altho my cleaning lady thought he was a VW salesman )
Anyway ... as I said ... great to have found this place, great to have such good shared knowledge & next week (before escaping to the 33+c temps of Thailand & Vietnam ) I will probably order one.
I have ditched the factory bluetooth (in favour of the preferred option discussed in this forum) & added the DMI.
Enuf .... the point of this was to publicly thank Gead & also acknowledge the wealth of info you ppl have enlightened me with in my decision making
Cheers

hey mate, no problems, glad to be able to help....enjoy Thailand and Vietnam safe in the knowledge you have a new car on the way
We all love gead, especially his helmut.
Seriously... We need to have an R36 meet! Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra. We have such awesome cars - the drive alone would be worth it. Great Ocean Road anyone?
Welcome and fantastic to see a warm welcome !

It would be awesome, but the 2 days solid driving to get there from Brisbane, plus a day or two there, then 2 days to get back, plus $500 for fuel, accommodation for at least 4 nights, etc, would make it far from practical for most in QLD.
Realistically I think anything other than state GTGs are going to be very hard to get off the ground.
Sorry to be a damp squib... would love to do it if only it were more feasible.
Yeah it was more of a "imagine how good this would be" thought than anything.
