Passat Wagon TDI DSG Auto, 2007 My08 125Kw

Hi, recently purchased the wagon and wanted to get an idea regarding the upcoming 60k service. Live in the Brisbane Metro area and would not mind travelling a bit to get to a good workshop. Would like information regarding dealerships as well as Independants as it is my first VW and first diesel. An inquiry from the dealer who was servicing it ( as per log book records) was 1200, said the DSG needed service.
Also Although I have the log book entries, the detailed information is not present as in service is marked as additional/recommended service done, how can I get this information.

Also if I get 8-9 km per litre on the MFD is that normal on a mix of City and highway driving, should I ask them to get it tuned as well.

hi, as far as I know the MFD is in L/100km, not km/L. If you're getting 8-9km/L it sounds a bit low

The 60k service is a big one, involving the DSG oil change which is worth 600+ in itself.

I always get good service and great price from Mike Weber at Prestige and Performance - 33240611. His shop is in Coorparoo

Thanks, yeah will get in touch with him and an other person also recommended at WVW.
You can adjust the settings in the MFD to display what you want

I just got my 60k service done by Mike Weber. The cost is not too far off from the VW dealership. Mike charged $930+$80 for brake fluid. VW in Newstead gives a quote of $1250 which include oil top up between services and transport to city. After all, I went to Mike's workshop to give it a go. Hard to say if there are extra values compared to previous experiences with VW service. May be I didn't ask the right question.

    Total cost:
    930 (service) + 80 (brake fluid) + 10 (transport to city) + 60 (3Liter of engine oil top up until next service) = 1080

It is just hard to justify the need to go to a workshop rather than VW dealership.
