    The 09G gearbox (Aisin TF-60SN) specifies G 055 025 A2 (Esso/Mobil ATF 3309 or Toyota ATF Type T-IV), which is dyed red.

    The 01M gearbox (4-speed) specifies G 052 162 A2 (Esso/Mobil ATF LT 71141), which is dyed yellow.
    Yes, you are correct.

Assume the usual remaining red ATF in the torque converter, mixed with some Castrol Transmax Z that is (apparently) dyed green.
That was before the Transmax. That chocolatey crap is pure Dexron 2 or 3

I have a copy of the 2008 Passat Technical Specifications brochure, and according to that, you are correct - the 2008 2.0T 147TSI petrol is fitted with a conventional torque converter auto, not a DSG. But it still needs regular servicing just like every other conventional car gearbox.
