I just completed my service - 4th year, 75,000km. Cost me $433. This was from Norris VW in Kedron.

DSG service is at 60,000km isn't it? Previous service cost a bit... into the $6-700 mark I recall - would have been because of the DSG servicing.

The point is that the car has only done 23,000 km

So does the DSG actually need doing

If it's a case of based on timing then yes because it's a 4 years of 60,000km for the DSG service. I am trying hard to recall what the content of DSG servicing is - drain and replace the fluids perhaps? Trying to also recall the costs of it - the service which included the DSG might have been more than what I stated - maybe closing into the $1000 mark. It was about 12 months ago now. Did it at the Bryan Byrt in Capalaba when they were still there.

I reckon you could probably take a punt on the DSG servicing TBH. It'd be a case of 4 years and the fluids might be a bit thicker so needs replacement - level of risk - not a 60,000km and there is possibly a bit of gunk in the fluids so it needs replacing risk.

The $950 is the capped price service cost inc DSG? (which actually sounds reasonable compared to what people have been charged in the past)

AFAIK, the DSG is mileage only (every 60,000km) & not time based.

Personally, I'd be having a conversation with the service manager & try & push it out a year or two.

You might also have a conversation about the timing belt because they'll probably want to do that next year.

Yeah quoted price for the lot but will be less cos I supply oil.

I have a years extended warranty (Swann) left so was just wondering as it seems a shame to spend it if not necessary. I reckon next year would be soon enough. They say if I dont do it and have problems dadadada. Yeah right

If it's working fine now then I doubt you'll have issues down the road
