Version 3 Disc is available now and rumour is that they are supposed to fix the Wyong Bermuda Triangle issue.

Anyone installed version 3 and done the Sydney Newcastle drive yet to see if the rumoured fix has worked?
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

I was wrong. I got my new GPS & Stereo today and they loaded in the V3 software. i'm going to Sydney next week so we'll soon see if the problem is fixed.

V3 is mostly the same but colours are all different on display now. I cant' see the GPS directions in my MFD but i remember seeing a blog on that in here somewhere so i need to look that one up.

    cheers

Bill buckle told me I'll get version 3 for free due to the issues V2 is causing. Great way of getting something so expensive for free!

I drove from Sydney to Nambucca Heads and back and didn't have a problem on the F3 or around the Hunter valley.. There are some new roadworks north of Bulahdelah where the display was 'Off Road' but other than that there were no problems. Oh, I have V3 BTW...

Good to see all these reports.
The unit in my Tiguan has had this problem in the same places along the F3 since I got it in late December.
When I complained to the dealer, they said they couldn't reproduce it.
I wonder if it's the digital TV repeater towers around Somersby / Warnervale. It's possible that they sometimes transmit what the RNS510 interprets as a reboot command.
It would account for the slight variation in where it occurs - sometimes outside the twin servos and sometimes at Ourimbah.
It is getting worse though. It's now every weekend I go to Warnervale. Back in January it was 3 out of 4 trips.
Anyway, thanks for the thread, I'll pursue this with the dealer.

Looks like the way they encoded the maps in previous version caused a crash...
it's common problem, either corrupt map data, or bug in the firmware of the gps unit.

I had this fixed with an updated firmware just 2 weeks ago ago experiencing this after getting my car 1 mth ago. All fixed now. get the update from the dealer, VW knows this problem and issued a fix.

Had this issue happen to me today.. Not sure what to do as i sourced my own and retrofitted the RNS510 and so VWA will not just replace my unit if need be.

Does anyone have any solutions before going to the dealer?
