Hi all
The Lakin plate mounts look great! They're not cheap but they're very well made and they sure do improve the look.
Another option for attaching the mounts to the car instead of drilling holes is to use two inch wide sticky Velcro (Bunnings again).
I put the rough side on the car and the smooth on the plate/holder. I use the full length of the plate and it sticks like poo to a blanket.
There's no way it'd ever fall off, in fact it takes a great deal of effort to pull it off if you stick the Velcro to the car and the plate properly, by that I mean clean the surfaces with PrepSol and then stick the Velcro on the prepared surfaces trying to cover the entire area with the Velcro.
I've also used this method on the rear plate to and that only has about half of the surface area to work with due to the small concaved area on the rear panel. Still, haven't lost a plate yet!
Saves drilling holes anyway!
