They are powder coated ... can anyone shed light on the pros and cons of powder coating versus painting?
Power Coating = stronger and therefore will likely last longer. That doesn't mean paint won't last though.
Painting = better finish and will look better.
I have had wheels painted and then clear coated before... And I would do it again.
Has anyone painted or powder coated their R36 omanyt wheels?

Have they kept the perimeter of the wheel silver while greying out the middle? Highlights things very nicely indeed. I think that's why the blacked out wheels of the car in the snow (some 10-15 postings prior) looks so good ... the white snow is actually serving to contrast against the black in the picture.
I see in the other pics that they've also blacked out much of the chrome trim (roof rails, sills, etc) ... how is this achieved? Some sort of plasti-dip do you think?
