My wife's new MY12.5 TSI wgon has the updated HVAC. It looks better but isn't as good as the system in my golf or in her old Octavia (same system as in passat up to MY12). The old system allows for 2 different levels on the Auto setting but the new system only one. My initial impression is that the single Auto setting results in a ridiculously high fan speed and you then have to turn it down manually losing the benefit of the Auto facility. Progess? Not sure. Style over substance maybe.
Thanks for trying to cheer me up... I really had set my heart on the new style... any justification for why the monobloc HVAC is better helps sooth my sensibilities ... I am strictly a one block (out of two) kinda guy... Have to say this (on ONE block) is the best climate control I have owned ... on two blocks it is mental, end up getting to work looking quite windswept...

    LED number plate lights.

Back to over zealous climate control. Has anyone had the solar sensor on the dash top replace successfully?

not that I know of, because - from my info- that's the way it's supposed to perform, it's not a fault. I think they think that it's very very hot here and they are trying to help us with super air conditioning.

Tyre pressures are via rotational differences, warning light and verbose message to check pressures appears on the MFD, not the picture of four wheels with real time pressures you can get in europe... its important for them to know they are down three PSI as they may have 10km between petrol stations... with our vast distances, and our bluestone and dirt roads... why would us australians be concerned with our tyre pressures?

(you all know I am being a smart ass yeah? If we could do 250 on the Sydney to Melbourne autobahn, the germans would probably think we earned the right to know exact tyre pressures rather than "Tyre = not flat")

I'd be happy if we could do 140! Even our Mr Plod commisioner up here gets done for speeding (his excuse is - "a brief lapse of concentration", - doesn't he know "Every K Over is a Killer"?). The Germans laugh at our road system, and laugh even louder that we can't get enough of their cars!
