    I went back and looked at Passat Alltrack launch pictures and they have the new climatronic controls, it was launched in europe around the 23rd of Nov with pics... I would like to think launch stock would have had to go down the line a few days earlier, so the update would have occured at least a week before the 23rd.... I am hoping that a vin is generated and appears on the tracker within a day or two of manufacture , my vin appeared on the 22nd.... so here is to hoping, because although they kinda look like a golf v throwback I like the look of those climatronic controls over the black monoblock with orange LED blocks controls.... they look more bespoke to the car IMHO...
    Sounds good! Anyway let me know when you get your car if its a 12.5? I hope VW will be more proactive with this changes..as they seem to just mix and match parts when they feel like it and call it a 12.5 i dunno when My12 was just released a few months ago. Im sure when we get our 12.5 theres probably a MY13.5 out already using maybe the Chinese VW passat Bixenon headlight..have you seen their version of the Passat DRL it goes all the way to the end of the headlight like the Audi's

    I read it in other model threads - my12.5 for european cars started in week 45/2011. Hope this helps.

    I had been wondering when this update was coming after seeing it late 2011 in the updated CC & new Alltrack. My car was in the first batch of RHD MY12 cars made for Asia Pacific delivery so I was never going to have the update but I can't say yet whether I prefer it or not over my MY12 climate control. I do agree that the MY12.5 update is more integrated into the console. Looks good, hope you both have it...

    FSI, close mate, very close now......... I hope you get a bit of an echo effect in your garage. When you start the V6 it has an awesome deep burble you'll enjoy, guaranteed. My wife mentioned the other day she had noticed it & loves it....

    My local did a PD on one last week, and it had the new climate controls.


    So if it's on its way I'd imagine it'd be the new ones.

    PS, saw the panoramic roof today.. man what a nice roof!

    Suffice to say, the wife's one that is landing in port 13th of next month will be the new one.
    PS, 12.5 on the golfs I think was Build week 2 of 2012. So my R will also be a 12.5

    I have owned a couple of fast turbo Subarus... with that nice boxer burble... but as for the sound, my wife never noticed... she liked the power mind you


    Even if it is an MY12.5, I am convinced that DAB+ and colour MFD will come out on MY13

    I wish I got the V6 now...i was too focus on saving fuel..didn't realise the fun factor of the V6 FSI.. Having owned import turbo cars back in the days and only having cars with V6 power or turbo..why why why didn't I. Anyway lets see what the TDI has install for me then I'll just remember to get a 5 sec car 0-100 next time.

    I wonder aside from the climate control what else differs in the MY12.5??

    I really hate why other countries get the goodies like coloured MFD, rear entertainment system, interior mood lighting in their first release etc..

    i think RVC became an option again on MY12.5
    AFAIK there is no detailed listing of differences for passat or golf for that matter for MY12.5

    from what I have been told the 12.5 climate control is more like the up and coming CC, and is more "in harmony" with the brushed aluminium finish.

    WRT the TDi Vs The V6. yes, the V6 is a nicer car with many more features standard, but it also comes at a significant price hike. I think you will be more than just content with the TDI. there is more power to be had if you're that way inclined with simple tunes and plug ins...

    Oh, and if you wait for MY13 you may as well wait for 13.5, as rumour is, it will come with a flux capacitor...

    I know it's annoying to have so many model changes within a cycle, but by the time you see the release spec, it's not the car you will custom order as that will come 6 months later.. Just enjoy it. You purchased based on what you saw at the time and you will get the same, or, maybe even a .5 update!

    I saw the prototype for the new Passat with the FC (release date mid 2014 from memory). Very nice, makes the V6 seem slow by comparison. Can't wait for the release.

    yep, that's it. Damn smart these VAG engineers -adding flux capacitor system is a little tricky on internal combustion engines, not sure how they've done it to be honest. But be great not having to rely any more on forced induction systems to get the performance up
