    Passat 2008 towbar?

Hi guys, I hope it is ok to post this as there is already a section for towbars. I would like to know where I can get a tow bar from and how much are they. I rang hall tow bars in adelaide and they said hamen Reece don't make them so I would have to get one engineered at a cost of 2 k. Hope someone from s.a. Can shed some light on this for me . Regards paul

Morning Paul, from my understanding, because the tow bars are European and because of the LED lights at the back of the car, the only place the tow bars are available are through VW dealers. When the B6 Passat first came out, the cost of fitting a tow bar was around $1500, price may have dropped, but you would need to ring a dealer to confirm price and if any are still in stock or can be back ordered. I was fortunate, purchased a second hand 2007, TDI with the tow bar fitted, but they have the European 13 pin plug fitted and there is a connecting piece to take it from a 13 pin down to a flat 7 pin plug. That was not there with my car, and it cost me over $100 to buy, but all works well. Peter.
