I loved the pano sunroof so much that it totally sold me on the wagon, that and the requirement to load her up with computer gear at times.

    Thanks Ryan.

That's not a biggy, in fact the kessy looks like a disaster waiting to happen with leaving the car unlocked

Just looked up a video on youtube, yanks tend to lock the door with their hip, lazy bums.

you actually have a better chance of not login the door if you have to do it automatically rather than have kessy to that. having said that, electronic systems can fail. but the boot foot swipe would be handy with the number of times that my arms are loaded with crap.

Yes you do.... the v6 passat is much greener than my first option (Redline SSV Sportswagon - 6 litre V8 )... even saving the world is "relative"....

You never really know if the car is locked If you go back to check, it will be open, so you have to leave someone behind. They have to wait until you are out of range to be sure that it locks.

A bit like a golf buggy that automatically follows you around. If you get too close to it, it moves away. The problem is how to you get a different golf club, or get close to it to turn it off ?

Wouldn't it make a sound when it locks anyway? I can hear whether or not my button press has worked or not because of the loud deadbolts engaging.

Keyless start buttons should be restricted to mean-sounding cars that rev when they start imo. Make it common and you lose all the excitement.

vcds, turn on open/close chirping or watch the lights. you double check that you have locked it that way even without kessy.

Yeah, did go a little (lot) wild with the options . . . was in a good position for a new work car and decided 'what the hey'!

Will hang on to it at least a couple of years and as I drive a lot wanted to have some comforts (used mainly for work, driven interstate - so far been Sydney to Melbourne & Sydney to Brisbane in less than a month, next week am off to Adelaide. A lot cheaper than paying to airfreight all the gear I need with me when I travel!). It is a great cruiser with some shove when you get some corners and do not want to slow down . . .

What I did not tick (much shorter than the other list!):

Kids seat - not compatible with Sports pack + kids are getting too big for them

Dynaudio . . . your posts made me hesitate on this one (back in march when I ordered) + the missus put her foot down!

some minor dealer options - such as their protection offering (shudder)

Adaptive Chassis Control - did tick it BUT found out on delivery day that it was not on the car. P-ss-d me off to no end that they could not do it do with lowered suspension (Sports Pack) and waited until the last second to tell me!

No regrets . . . still get sh-t from the missus for it

Re pano roof: +2 FSI 220 and booba. My kids love it and it works like a charm.

P.S. Apologies, not meaning to hijack the thread!
