Parking sensors play up when wet

My b6 passats factory front parking sensors play up when wet. Basically they go off as if I`m right up against something. I have taken it to the dealership to which they have told me there isnt anything wrong with them - Its just a limitation of the product.

Now rears are fine, water doesnt bother them. Can anyone offer any advice to correct the issue or is this the norm?

Bet you have a loose connection letting the rain in and shorting it out.

Mate of mine did the exact same thing, ended up being the water creating a reflection on his 'chrome trims' causing the sensors to think there was something infront of them (based on the reflection).

My golf does the same thing. I just turn them off and wait till it dries out.

Yeah my Passat does the same thing.

I took it to the deal few times to have a look. Last time they wanted to remove the whole front bumper to check. Would cost around 3-4 hours work. I told them to leave it alone!

Mice does the noise as well. But I clean the connector with contact cleaner and put electrical tape over the connector. Never happened ever since.
