I have had two parking brake buttons fail... both replaced under warranty.

First time it happened, the brake refused to release (couldn't go anywhere). Roadside assist disconnected the battery for 5 mins ... then restarted the car to get me going again.

Ok there is a known fault with these. Even if you fit a new one it thats not enough. there is a superseded part number for the switch but if you fit it and try and clear the fault it will remain. You must do a terminal 30 reset to clear the fault. All good and not too much to worry about.

Umai Naa, does it take them long to change over the faulty button?

No, mate. Not at all. Probably a 30 minute turn-around.

    Spot-on, Jmac. The part number went from a B to a C.

I had a similar problem to this, they R&R'd the switch under warranty in about half an hour.

I can confirm the change in part number discussed above.
