    Panel beating

The 2006 103 Passat Wagon I’ve recently purchased has some existing scratches one of which is beginning to rust slightly.

I was wanting to get these issues fixed and wondered if anyone knew of a good panel beater around Hurstville / St George Area?

I plan to get Dan (DMS Detailing - Home) to have a look at it afterwards but he’s said that rust should be fixed properly before he works his magic.

There is A & J Corben located at 98 Forest Rd, Hurstville.

Haven't used myself but my boss has twice, he is quite particular about his cars and was very happy with both jobs.

I am currently trying to get the mechanics of the car sorted out with Barloworld in Mascot, mechatronics unit has been replaced and it's still having problems. Once this is sorted out I'll get a quote from them, thanks again for the tip, much appreciated.

Ive finally got my car mechanically fine and have today taken it along to A & J Corben who quoted me $200 to fix the rust and re-paint both door panels in black so that they match one another on the passenger side. They said it would take 1 day to complete.

A good price I think...I'll let you know the quality of the finish once completed next week or the one after depending on how busy they are.

Thanks again for the tip Krautwagener

We have finally had the work done by A & J Corben and they have done a fantastic job, all in one day's work and to top it off they were very friendly and professional.

Highly recommended for those in the area. Thanks again for the recommendation!

Woops.. you should have pointed out the corrosion to the dealer when you had the mechatronics replaced.. there's a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty on VW.

Really? Since when does the anti-corrosion warranty cover corrosion caused by damage to the protective layers?

I wouldn't expect they would cover rust as a result of damage to the paint work under this warranty. I am quite happy to have paid for it myself.
