I agree with him - if they are the same triangular profile as mine it would be impssible to properly spray the undernath surface (base of the triangle). You shouldn't have any problems with rattles as long as he puts some more locking compound on the screws and tightens them up properly.

I think it is amusing how often us paying customers disagree with the colours (eg of roof racks and other garnishes) the marketing gurus insist we must have. I'm also looking at changing the colour of my B and C pillars from body colour (bright yellow in my case) to satin black (same as Passat wagons, but without the chrome edging). It is so common Milotec even make plastic pillar covers for Octy Mk IIs (unfortunately finished in fake carbonfibre, but I can paint them).

From memory, the standard R36 offset are ET44 and they are 8" wide. The 20" versions are ET60 and 9". Therefore the offset difference of 16mm and half the width difference of the rim - 12.7mm - would give you an extra 28.7mm sticking out away from the hub. The fact that the R36 tyre/rim package sits in from the lip of the guard by quite a few mm would mean that the extra 20mm guard extensions of the Concept R36 would allow the tyre/rim package to probably sit nicely level with the guard lip as shown in the photos.

VWA website has the R50 rims at 21 inches (and they still have the caps) so the information I read was wrong. Might go and talk to my dealer about what options are available for sourcing OEM 19's without the cap from Germany (if it's even possible).

Information on article is entirely possible... I think it refers to the R-Line, not the R50. R-line comes with 20inch Omanyts with no centre caps.

Yeah... I'll be getting an R50 when my wife needs a car. She can drive the R36 and I take the R50. White is the go!

Well, I get my car back tonight (gotta hand back the mini keys I guess )
I've decided to take some photos and try to figure out how to photoshop before I dive head first into any other changes (the roof rack to body colour is a given, I want to black out the chrome on a computer before I go through the process of actually doing the anodizing or colour coding)
The boys have been very honest and confirmed what I probably already knew but didn't want to admit, the wheels simply don't work and don't really suit the car like I envisioned they would.
One of the guys has Konigs on his Tiburon and it completely changes the look of the car, perfect match. Another has Matt Black wheels on a Lancer and it also looks awesome, now I'm on a mission to get this right and find some new 19" wheels that look good on the R36 wagon.
If any of you have any ideas or personal favourites could you please post a link or photo for me to look at? opinions and input are very welcome.
    Cheers
BTW Rocket, saw a blue R50 at Moorooka a few weeks back getting some work done with those monster Omanyts on it and it looked great.
