We will be lucky to get 1/4 of those options. What I don't understand is there are plenty of car buyers who want a product with all the bells an whistles however VW refuse to give many options.
We just purchased the new 2014 Golf R, only 3 options available where UK and Germany have multiple options. Comparing the driver assist menu on the golf r and my 2012 passat makes me sad that we dont get all the cool stuff.
Well its out, have to say, not bad.

Looks like a solid car. A little boring, as I thought that they stepped backwards going from the B6 to the B7, but it still looks alright. I am really disappointed that they have totally forgotten about those people that like a little flare with their cars. The R Line car, while looking better, is far from sporting. I respect all the hype about fuel savings but for god sake, there are lots of people out there that like to have some sport in their daily driver. I don't think a lot of car companies are realising how much us Aussie's like some sport in their cars. Surely they see it with how well the GTI golf sells here and abroad, but I guess our market is just a drop compared to the rest of the world. VW, give us a turbo V6!!! Please!!! Or a V8, although that is pushing it I know!!. Bring back the R36!!! R36...R36...R36...R36........ haha!

appears that they are still actively developing vr6. maybe a vr6 turbo is in the works.

I love the dash.
It would be an odd decision to put the three litre twin turbo vr6 engine in there as it currently is - 370kw and 560nm. It'll either be detuned or not in there at all, which will be disappointing. I can't imagine that engine with that power going to a Volkswagen application rather than an Audi S or RS car.
It makes far more sense for VW to put the 2.5 litre turbo inline 5 (the 250kw version) in the new hero Passat.
If the hot Passat gets the same two-point-boring engine as the Golf R, my VW days will be over. Here's hoping the 370kw/560nm engine makes it, but I'm not all that hopeful...
R36 =
