    Thumbs up Nose sits Up!!

For those with the old skool Passats, have you noticed that the unmodified ones suspension wise in the front, that the nose sits higher than the back? When researching the brake stuff, I came across a guy in QLD that sells upgrade kits mainly for aircooled, but does drum to disc conversions in watercooled as well, pointed out to me which has been on my mind fro a whilethis nose up attitude in the early Passats. He sells kits that lower the front via struts but leaves the springs alone. www.volksconversions.com.au, John Sherman iis his name. He has a full page ad in this qtrs VWMA page 19.

The reason the nose sits up on early Passats is the fact the rear springs have sagged as they were quite weak and very prone to this problem.
Lowering the front overllooks the real problem.
You may notice that its the sedan version that has this problem and not the station wagon and the common fix was to replace the rear coils with wagon ones, it completely changes the way the Passat feels and handles.
This also applied to a lot of early Audis too.
This info has come from my dad as he has been involved with them since the seventies.
