    Noisy Steering

Any of the other R36 guys have noisy steering at low speed? Mine makes almost a grinding sound when moving the steering whilst stopped or at very low speeds. Does it with engine off too. Not tyres or pump... dealer reckons it's the suspension - top of the coils moving he said.... If that's what it is then I can't believe mine is the only one that would be doing it...

Nope - never had any abnormal noises....

Sounds like a bad one to get though.

Confirmed yesterday that it is the coils - hand on coil through wheel arch you can feel them slightly juddering when steering is moved. Not a bad noise, but it is there. Fine at speed, only noticeable at parking speeds or stopped.

I'm not going to worry about it now I know what it is...

Most of the vehicles in the range do it, some worse than others, golf 3 was a shocker for it, they would grate at low speeds.
