    Sorry to burst your bubble, but its not a VR6, I thought it was a bit much for the 3.6 to pump out 400NM with only 221 kw still. See link below.

    I'm no engineer, but it still brings me a certain satisfaction and reassurance that the engine in the R36 is rated for use in 4WD vehicles weighing much more. Should give it plenty of safety margin from a stress perspective I guess?

    Sun herald today has a writeup of the panamera.

    Says specifically it is a Porsche developed V6 ( wider angle) and not a VW!
