    New R36 owner

    Hi all,

After being a long time viewer to this excellent forum i have decided to make my first post.

I have just placed an order for an R36 Wagon in Black and will be taking delivery this coming Saturday. Cant wait. I didnt get any options added as i would have had to wait 4-5 months.

Wondering if i got a reasonable deal:
R36 Wagon with no options $62,200 drive away. Im pretty happy with that especially considdering what other choices there are for that price.

Anyhow when i take delivery i will post some pics

    Matt

    Congrats on the R36.

Sounds like a great deal at 62,200 drive away.

Black cars look great, but a b&st&rd to keep clean. As they say, you only ever have one black car. I had one.

I ordered my fully optioned R36 wagon in July 2007 and my dealer assures me that it will be delivered in the next few days. The first one that arrived last month didn't have a reversing camera, so I reordered. I thought that I got a good deal at $71.5k drive away, but $62.2k with no options seems to be even better, since the options only cost about $8.5k - well done!

  6. Was I ripped off?

    Hi Matt

I am wondering if you could email me a copy of your invoice? I have a white R36 wagon on order, with Sunroof, SatNav and electric tailgate (about $6k in extras); this is going to cost me $80k so I think, if what you are saying is right, that I am being stitched up - (dealer delivery is $3k, rego etc is about $4k - did you include this stuff in your figure?)

    Hey Matt -

Sounds like a bargain price, you are getting a lot of perfomance (and build quality) for well under 65K, nice colour choice too, black IS beautiful!

The beauty of black cars is they look gorgeous after a polish - whether its a month after you bought it or 5 years!

Was wondering whether they would shoehorn that engine into the next gen of the R32.... mmmmm, that would be a tasty recipe.

    Cheers,

Sounds like a very good price. My V6 wagon with roof and tail gate on the road was about $58k. I would have gone for the R36 at $62k.

the price of $62,200 is inclusive of all costs, drive away. I was fortunate to receive a good fleet discount as a benefit of my employer and on top that they reduced the price further if i took delivery by the end of month.

Yes i agree black is the best colour. This is my 3rd black car and second in succession so its not going to an issue. Now being able to wash the car at home helps too.

i will definitely post pics up when it arrives.

happy to email the invoice to you once i have it. the price you were quoted sounds about right for RRP. If you can get fleet discount it makes a HUGE difference to the price with VW.

I had an option to buy am R36 wagon with Satnav, Dynaudio, CD Changer, sunroof and autotailgate for just over $71k. This retails for $85k i was told. Spewing i couldnt buy this as i hadn't sold my last car in time.
