That is what they are deflectors & possibly even rub guards. All V6 Passat sedan & wagon have them as standard equipment due to the 18" wheels. Passats ordered with the sport pack also have the guards/deflectors due to the 18" wheels.

As entice said, leave the side mirrors adjustment knob turned to the left position. When you select reverse it automatically drops if the mirror adjustment knob is in the L position. You can set the desired position the mirror drops down to by going through a procedure I don't recall right now. I'll look at the manual later & advise.

You have the bi-xenon so you will have the auto folding mirrors.. There is another position on the left side of the adjustment knob for that feature but is an extra turn. Forget that for now....

Get that manual out & study it mate, all the info is there....

Thanks. I do have the bi-xenons but I don't have the folding mirror option, I can only see the demister on the side mirror knob.

OK, I am looking at the Passat brochure here in my office & the electric folding mirrors are standard only on the V6 with the electric memory seats. On the 118TSi & 125TDi the folding mirrors are available as an option only as part of the electric memory seats pack.

Picked up my new Passat MY12.5 FSI Wagon with sports pack, visibility, sat nav, in pearl white last Wednesday yipee... had a couple of bugs with power steering a couple of times when starting, got error message, shut down, restarted, all OK, until last night. It happened again, turned ignition off, Car dead, warning lights everywhere, no start. Got taken away on back of flatbed this morning. Local dealer couldn't look at it today, (said he is booked for three weeks). Phoned this afternoon and he will look at in the morning... not sure when I will get it back. Same reason I purchased out of town - spent 15 minutes in the dealership looking at a $71k Passat... no one came near me, so purchased elsewhere... So not happy at present. Had to borrow one of our other company cars today to go on a trip. Passat only has 221km on it. Still havent had a decent drive. Just hope it gets better.

Would appear to now be an issue with the tow bar installed by Patricks Autocare on behalf of the VW dealer. Does not appear it was done as per VW spec, wires cut, and things not right.... Hopefully will be back next week... I told them I just want it right so I dont have to always drive around wondering! Everyone is coorperating to get it fixed... but it shouldnt happen with a $70k vehicle.

Anyone updated their interior lights to Led?
I tried earlier but the error free led I have works fine
But the housing wouldn't close because the lights are quiet long. What did you guys use so it fits?

Arrggg!!!! I still can't get the mirror to go down when reversing.
I followed the manual to the tooth but it states on manual to tick the mirror down via the mfd and put the knob in R..but I can't see that option.
I'm starting to think this only work with memory seats which I don't have.

    Any ideas people???
