looks like CC wheels and side mirrors? Still looks like lots of bonnet overhang at the front. On the issue of towing, I hope the cost of fitting a towbar comes back to reality in the new model....but i doubt it. After being qauted almost $3k, i opted to pay many many delivery fees at approx $60 each over the 4 year lease.

It's just an update to bring the overall styling in line with other models.

It's the same car with revised front and rear end treatments, revised mirrors. Will most likely update the HVAC and steering wheel as well. But that's where it'll stop. Oh apart from revised engine/gearbox combinations - they'll probably be different too.

Will be interesting to see it uncovered actually. I'd liken it to what the Golf V to VI update did for the golf.

Let's hope there will be a wagon R36 in the new lineup.

Not sure about the R36 in the future.

With the R32 moving to an R20 setup, it is most likely the R36 will also downgrade but may use a twin charge system on a 2L engine to get decent power.

Will be interesting to see what happens though.

It looks very similar to the old one in basic outline shape. The wheels look exactly the same as the Laguna wheels on my Passat CC! To be honest (and perhaps a few of you will disagree) I cannot understand why the Passat CC shape could not be the foundation of the entire Passat range. I even saw a spy (concept?) shot of a CC wagon somewhere which looked promising.

Haven't VW already done this a month or 2 ago (the interior/driveline changes anyway)? They dropped the 2.0 Turbo Petrol Auto and the 103kw 2.0TDI DSG and brought in a 118kw 1.8 Turbo Petrol 7 speed DSG (1.8, not the 1.4 twin charged unit from the Golf) and left the 125kw 2.0 TDI DSG as the only diesel. Updated interior with the new climate control/steering wheel/white backlit dash etc + new options like Lane Assist. Exterior is still the same, they just changed which model gets which wheel design and the 118TSI is the only one that gets a plain black grille now, the 3.2V6 4Motion still gets the chrome inserts but now the TDI does too.
